In March, my crew and I loaded up on our sleds and we headed out into the Chugach to explore a new zone. We were searching for new lines accessible by sled and on foot from our basecamp. We spent days riding through new territory, mapping out potential ski lines, taking notes of conditions, jumping off cornices and just riding pow.
I spotted this line on our second day, and immediately wanted to ski it. When the conditions and weather aligned, I headed up to the summit. With my crew waiting below...they listened to the radio as I called in.
I skied one of the funnest lines of my life. The snow was incredible. The terrain was steep and challenging and FUN.
This new zone is an area I'm stoked to continue to explore and learn more about, and I am excited and ready to continue to ski terrain like this in Alaska.
